Safety & Precautions

This product contains alcohol.
Not advisable in acute infections. The risk of allergic reaction to Echinacea is very small, especially if preparations of the root are used since these are free of pollens. Echinacea is contraindicated for long-term use in patients taking immunosuppressant medication (eg transplant patients) - short-term therapy only is suggested in this instance. Caution is advised in patients receiving midazolam by injection.
Theoretically, astragalus might increase levels and adverse effects of lithium, might interfere with cyclophosphamide therapy, might interfere with immunosuppressive therapy.

If coughing persists consult a healthcare professional. Strictly adhere to prescribed dosages. Dietary supplements should not replace a balanced diet. Discontinue 7 days prior to general anaesthesia. Children under two years of age should not be treated for symptoms of respiratory tract infections without medical advice. Professional supervision is suggested for pregnancy and lactation.

FAQs

What is a herbal tonic?

A tonic is a medical drink, that is intended to be used regularly over short or long periods of time to support the body in restoration, rejuvenation, balance, and harmony. Each herbal formula contains a selection of botanical extracts that are synergistically paired and tailored to your individual needs.

How do immunostimulants and modulators work?

Immuno-supportive herbs can either stimulate the immune response or modulate it, bringing the body back into harmonious alignment. This botanical blend taps into both pathways, regulating and balancing the positive effects on the body.

Scientific explanation: The immunostimulatory properties of echinacea appear to target both nonspecific and specific immune function. Specific immune responses include the activation of alternate complement pathway components and increasing levels and activity of T lymphocytes, neutrophils, and natural killer (NK) cells.
Astragulus is known to have active constituents including more than 40 saponins. In animal research, the saponin fraction from astragalus protected mice against induced polymicrobial sepsis by inhibiting inflammation and upregulating the protein C pathway. Astragalus seems to improve the immune response. In vitro, the polysaccharide constituents appear to bind and activate B cells and macrophages, but not T cells (14500). Astragalus potentiates the effects of interferon, increases antibody levels of IgA and IgG in nasal secretions and serum, and increases interleukin-2 levels (IL-2). It also seems to improve the response of mononuclear cells and stimulate lymphocyte production. Astragalus seems to potentiate lymphokine-activated killer (LAK) cell activity in vitro when used in combination with IL-2, as well as natural killer cell activity. astragalus may increase the number or activity of T helper cells and alter cytokine production levels. It may also increase the activation of macrophages. In humans, astragalus may also increase T cell activity. Dendritic cell numbers in humans and activity in humans and laboratory research have been shown to improve with astragalus.

How do I take them?

As prescribed. Patients can take a 3 drops under the tongue every 15 min, up to 7mls twice a day mixed with water, depending on their needs and under supervision of a naturopath.

Flavour & Aroma

Each herb has a distinctive aroma and flavour palette, some are sweet- aniseed like, others are bitter, and most have a natural, earthy, woody flavour.
This formula contains high-quality echinacea, which is notable due to the tingly sensation on your tongue followed by profuse saliva. This is due to a natural plant chemical, alkylamides which have a vital role in our immune systems.

You may prefer to dilute the prescribed volume with a little water; kombucha and a few ice cubes or add them to your favourite tea.
They pair well with honey and our range of Native Australian Bush Superfoods flavourings.

Why Do Herbal Liquids Contain Alcohol?

Alcohol acts as an excellent solvent for herbs that have many phytochemicals and have limited solubility in water. It is also an effective preservative for tinctures.
